Steckly on Podium Yet Again
Another Second Place Finish for 22 Racing

Edmonton, AB, Saturday July 26, 2008 : Six races in 2008 and Steckly has been on the podium for five of them with the lone non podium finish being a fourth. Steckly, who started the Edmonton NASCAR Canadian Tire Series 100 from the third row in fifth place finished in second for the second time this season.

Steckly was not 100% happy with the Tow Truck in a Box/Diamond International Dodge Avenger on Friday during practice and qualifying so they made several changes on Friday evening in hopes that the car would be just that little bit better on Saturday. It appears it worked as Steckly didn't stay in fifth long once the green flag flew to start the 32 lap event. By lap four the Tow Truck in a Box/Diamond International Dodge was up to third. A re-start on lap seventeen saw Steckly get the jump needed to pass the No. 27 of Andrew Ranger for second, a position he would not give up again for the remaining laps. "The car was incredibly loose today but we held on for a second," stated Steckly after the race. "We weren't quite happy with it after qualifying yesterday so we made a few changes and it was better." When asked about the incredible season they are having, the ever modest Steckly said "We aren't doing anything different than in the past everything is just working for us now and we will take it for as long as it lasts."

Alex Tagliani won the Edmonton NASCAR Canadian Tire Series 100 on Saturday, while his teammate Andrew Ranger finished third. J.R. Fitzpatrick and D.J.Kennington rounded out the top five.

The teams now head home and prepare for the NASCAR Nationwide event next weekend at Circuit Gilles Villeneuve. Steckly takes a 131 point lead into this event number seven of the thirteen race 2008 schedule.
